American Buttercream Frosting

Time: 20 Minutes
Servings: 5 Cups

Ingredients

  • 4 Sticks (2 cups) Unsalted Butter, room temperature
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • 5 C Confectioners’ Sugar
  • ¼ C Whole Milk (or heavy cream for extra richness)
  • 1 T Pure Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Beat the softened butter and salt in a large mixing bowl on medium-high speed until smooth and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  2. Reduce the mixer speed to low and gradually add the confectioners’ sugar, one cup at a time.
  3. Increase the speed to medium-high and beat until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  4. Pour in the milk and vanilla extract.
  5. Beat again on medium-high speed until creamy, smooth, and fully combined.
  6. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to ensure even texture.
