Bourbon Apple BBQ Glazed Chicken Sliders

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 2 lbs Boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 T Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (optional Rogue move)

For the Apple BBQ Glaze:

  • ½ C Apple Butter
  • ½ C BBQ Sauce
  • 2 T Bourbon
  • 1 T Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tsp Dijon Mustard

For Serving:

  • Slider Buns
  • Sharp Cheddar Slices
  • Crispy Fried Onions or Slaw

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Season chicken thighs with paprika, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cocoa if using.
  3. Whisk apple butter, BBQ sauce, bourbon, vinegar, and Dijon in a saucepan.
  4. Simmer glaze for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Grill chicken 5–6 minutes per side until cooked through.
  6. Brush generously with apple BBQ glaze during the final minutes.
  7. Slice chicken and pile onto slider buns.
  8. Top with cheddar and crispy onions and slaw.
