Bourbon-Kissed Strawberry Crunch

Ingredients

  • 6 C Strawberries, fresh or frozen, halved
  • ½ C Strawberry Jam
  • 2 T Maple Syrup
  • 2 T Cornstarch
  • ½ tsp Cinnamon
  • 3 T Bourbon
  • 2 tsp Vanilla

Topping:

  • 1 C All Purpose Flour
  • ½ C Old Fashioned Oats
  • 2 T Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • 1 ½ Sticks Salted Butter, cold & cubed
  • 4 T Maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. Toss the strawberries, strawberry jam, maple syrup, cornstarch, cinnamon, bourbon, and vanilla together in a large bowl until evenly coated.
  3. Spread the strawberry mixture evenly into a 10–12 inch baking dish.
  4. Combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Cut 8 tablespoons (1 stick) of cold butter into the dry mixture using a pastry cutter or fork until crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the strawberries.
  7. Cover the dish with foil or a lid.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil from the dish.
  10. Dot the top with the remaining 4 tablespoons of butter.
  11. Drizzle the maple syrup evenly over the topping.
  12. Bake uncovered for 20–30 minutes more, until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
  13. Cool for 20–30 minutes before serving.
  14. Serve warm with cold vanilla ice cream.

Go Rogue by replacing one cup of Strawberries with one cup of Rhubarb. This will give it a little tart taste.
