Chocolate American Buttercream

Time: 10 Minutes
Servings: 3 Cups

Ingredients

  • 2 Sticks (1 cup) Unsalted Butter, room temperature
  • 2 C Confectioners’ Sugar
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • 1 T Whole Milk
  • 2 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 2 T Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 8 oz Semisweet Chocolate, melted and cooled

Instructions

  1. Beat the softened butter in a large mixing bowl on medium-high speed until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the confectioners’ sugar and salt.
  3. Mix on low speed, then increase to medium-high until fully combined.
  4. Whisk the cocoa powder into the milk until dissolved.
  5. Pour the cocoa-milk mixture and vanilla extract into the butter and beat until smooth.
  6. Add the cooled melted semisweet chocolate and mix until the frosting becomes silky, glossy, and fully combined.
